Dear Friends and Family,

December, 2016

Happy holidays to all of you! We hope you are doing well! It’s been several years since we last did a family letter. Our kids are all thriving and we’d like to share a bit of detail about each of them:

Evan and Peiling have purchased a second apartment in Brooklyn, adjacent to their original, and plan to renovate the two into one after the beginning of the year. They had a wonderful flying trip in Alaska. Evan is now 12 years with JP Morgan Chase and Peiling teaches yoga.

Mark graduated from Juilliard some years ago and has worked in a number of different cities. He most recently appeared in Frankenstein in Denver, alternating performances with a co-star as either the Creature or as Frankenstein. We were able to see him play both roles. He was fabulous! He lives in Harlem.

Paul and Jacky live in Minneapolis, so we get to see them often. How else could we get the cable to work? They loved the RV trip they did in Alaska this summer. They recently completed major remodeling to their house, which they share with three cats. Jacky has been active with the Guthrie’s corporate development board.

Of course, Emily and Patrick’s news is obvious: baby Edison. They live about an hour outside of Boston and share their home with three dogs, including our old cocker spaniel, Sedona. They also have two cats, so do not expect Edison to develop any allergies. Patrick is now 8 years with General Dynamics and Emily is enjoying being a mom.

Peter and Kallista moved to Denver in October, picked up puppy Winston on the way, and are happy to be in their newly purchased old house. Kallista is attending graduate school and Peter is ecstatic at all the outdoor opportunities in and around Denver.

Kathy retired from the Anoka Public Defender’s office three years ago and does pro bono work representing kids in foster care and helping criminals seal their records. She’s delighted to be on the boards of the local ACLU and the Minnesota Orchestra. We lost her lovely mother Ruth this past February.

The BIG NEWS: John retires from Ameriprise on January 20, 2017. It’s been a long time coming, but he’s sincerely looking forward to it and ready to spend time doing other things. We have several trips scheduled for 2017 and look forward to more travel, especially in our Vistabule RV, “Downton.” He enjoys serving on the boards of the Guthrie Theater and Minnesota Opera. His new email: john.junek@gmail.com.

                                                                                Love,

                                                                                           John & Kathy
